So the new health care bill is close to being passed. I guess this means that the voice of this country has been ignored. I know of very few people in favor of it. Most people were writing to their congressmen and voicing their objections, but apparently they were not heard.
Does anyone understand what this is going to do to people? Especially people who, even though they swear this will be affordable, still won't be able to afford it. Companies are going to be penalized, citizens will be fined. How is this good for the average American? It is only going to be good for the Government and everyone knows this, including them.
So in light of this, we now fully understand that our Congressmen and women are working only for themselves. They will all be grouped in with the bad guys, because we know you have all had letters and calls streaming into your offices. You are not acting as the voice of your citizens as you swore you would. If you were upholding your duties, this bill would not be passing. Instead you line your pockets with the money those in favor of this bill have passed on to you, then you blatantly lie on a daily basis to cover your own assets.
This is why term limits should be set. This is the reason why everyone in America needs to vote new people in rather than allowing the same one to continue on. Granted, there are some decent politicians out there, but that is almost like saying you like your lawyer. Or your Doctor telling you that the medication he is giving you is just for show, it won't do any good.
The ones that are not in favor of this bill, who have been outvoted and actually listen to the people they serve are the ones we need to keep. The others have spent far too much time in government and have been corrupted by it.
This bill should not pass, but it looks as if it will. So thank you, to all of the representatives who have ignored the voice of the American people. Thank you for ignoring our best interests. We appreciate having you turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to this country. I think it is time you all read the Constitution again and the Bill of Rights, or is it too much like the Bible? You will interpret it as you see fit to suit your needs and then regurgitate the corrupted truth for everyone to hear?
Thanks for nothing, idiots.

Politics and Politicians
I just watched Glen Beck's latest show. I personally have to say that I've been trying to follow the news a lot more since we decided to make this country an Obamanation. Nice play on words, eh? Abomination doesn't even begin to explain it however.
In my opinion, I agree with Beck when he says that we need to limit the terms our senators hold in Washington. Everyone knows that the longer they remain, the bigger the bribes get and the more their pockets get lined.
Our country has been on the decline for decades. Everyone who has come into office has gone in with hope and come out with strings attached to their backs as the politicians play them like puppets. The only other thing our "fearless leaders" have in common is that they think for some reason we need to revolutionize America, move forward and keep up with the rest of the technology and the like as the rest of the world.
Well, while all that is well and good for people of this country, people need to realize that America isn't as "Old" as the rest of the world. We broke off from England to be free thinkers, free speakers and pursue our dreams. Now every politician out there isn't in it for the people he represents, he's out there for himself. The corruption of our government is so large and all encompassing, I don't know if it can even be filtered out by just voting in new representatives.
So what is to be done? Just allow Obama to continue down his path of destruction? He will take the majority of the Senate with him. The ones who are in office who don't follow Obama have their own agendas.
The latest issue of how women in the workplace are detrimental to families....what a load of crap. Sadly, there are still men out there who feel the same way. If an apology were to be issued for this comment, it wouldn't make a difference because it would not be sincere. You don't just idly make such comments and then apologize for them later. The truth is out, step up and "be a man" and take it like one. Tell people the truth for once. If you've got the balls to state something like that, you should have a huge set to tell people, "Yes, I meant it. What're you going to do about it?"
Everyone has their opinions. But the people who are respected and admired in this world are the ones who speak their mind and don't apologize for it. Oh wait, I have that wrong. They're the ones who are hated and despised because people don't like to hear the truth. They want to hear something that will make their life easier.
I'm a woman, I don't think my working is detrimental to my family. When I do work, that is. Even when I did work, though, I tried my hardest to make time for my family.
Can't say the same about the exes.
And as for us bloggers out there needing to get out of our PJ's and realize how hard it is to run a government....well let me just say that if people like us, who worked hard, who fought and bled and sweated for our families and didn't have everything handed to us on a silver platter ran this country you can be damn sure it would run better than when a bunch of sniveling, spoiled, trust funders who never worked a hard day in their life are currently running it.
Did I say that out loud? I believe I did and I am not going to apologize for that and make it a weaker statement.

What a Joke
I have to laugh at people who use their blogs as a way to attack major companies thinking they'll never be seen. I've just visited Bruce Everiss' blog page where I discovered a few days ago that he'd been blogging some nastiness about an online game called Evony.
Google both Bruce and Evony, you'll find it all.
While I might rant and rave here about politics, irritating people and the like, I don't ever expect a response. This is, after all, an online journal. If I have followers, I would hope they have a better sense of humor and some intelligence. Common sense is nice too, it would keep me from getting in trouble for spouting off.
At any rate, this clown is stating how this game promotes online gambling in children. Let me give you a rundown of this game: Basically it is comparable to the likes of Stronghold Crusader and Age of Empires. Apparently this is a bad thing. I've played Crusader, glanced at AoE and have played Evony. All three of these games may be strikingly similar, but are in no way the same. First of all, you actually have to have a disc to play AoE and Crusader, Evony is an online web-browser game. The graphics are also similar, but I can tell you right now there are at least five or more differences in these three games. If there wasn't, the creators of AoE and Crusader would be all over Evony like white on rice.
The part about promoting online gambling in children? It's laughable at best. First of all, you are awarded an Aries Amulet. Apply it and it "spins a wheel" of fortune either allowing you to win resources, game cents or other types of in-game prizes. While you can purchase these game coins (which gamers are always purchasing stuff to up their advantages) you can be patient and actually be given one of the amulets a day. So if you are twelve and ask mom and dad to use their credit card to buy stuff for your game, my guess is they'll look at their kid like they've just grown a second head. Some parents, sadly, just don't care or monitor their kids. So some kids might get away with it. However, I don't see it as gambling. Online gambling is something that is as much an addiction as say, blogging. Perhaps even the internet itself or...dare I say...actual gambling in person. It is unhealthy, that is something that can be agreed upon, however a game like Evony will not keep charging your credit card, take funds from your bank account or even send Bruno to your door to bust your kneecaps if you are late on a payment to your loan shark.
If anything, I would say this blog is just an attempt to gain more readers, boost his numbers. He's also given Evony lots of free advertising as there are over 8 million players of the game. To each his own. If he doesn't remove the posts and drop the whole thing, then it will speak volumes. Maybe he'll come to his senses.

Now this is life...
I've decided to get off of my political soap box and just become an observer of things going on around me. Do I object to the events leading our country through the barbed wire? Of course! But if I keep rambling and ranting about it the way I do, well I'll just tick some people off. I've never been one to sugar-coat my opinion to make others happy. I have however, learned when to keep my mouth shut. Wow....amazing isn't it? I know some of my close friends would be asking me right now if I was feeling well. Heehee!
At any rate, I wanted to blog writing stuff. Seems that has taken a back seat and I now need to push it forward. National Novel Writing Month is only a few short months away and I have yet to finish my editing of the first novel I've written for NaNoWriMo. *Sighs* I'm a pathetic little procrastinator. There, the truth has finally come forth!! Yeah, but we knew this already people. :D
I've currently posted up the first two chapters on my Writing.com portfolio (www.writing.com/authors/relanda) and am looking for rating and reviews on it. I get a few here and there, but am not getting the "down-to-the-nitty-gritty" kind of editing I seriously need. Where my sister-in-law (Cheri - she's on here, I'm one of her followers!) may use too few commas, my comma usage is apparently overwhelming and horrendous. Do I have the amount of cash it takes to find a serious editor?? *Snorts with laughter* Uh...no. *Sighs again*. I wish I did. I've learned to take the criticism of my writing with a grain of salt. Perhaps it is now time to just trudge forward, suck it up and actually submit my writing or find a professional editor. I can't put it off any more. I'd like to actually finish something once and for all with the professional quality it deserves. I love writing, I failed English but my imagination and my writing style more than make up for my comma issues. At least I think so.
Oh to be a perfect writer....but is there such a thing?

"Weary with toil, I haste to my bed,
the dear repose for limbs with travel tir'd;
but then begins a journey in my head
to work my mind when body's work expir'd:
for then my thoughts - from far where I abide -
intend a zealous pilgrimage to thee,
and keep my drooping eyelids open wide,
looking on darkness which the blind do see:
save that my soul's imaginary sight
presents they shadow to my sightless view,
which, like a jewel hung in ghastly night,
makes black night beauteous and her old face new.
Lo! thus, by day my limbs, by night my mind,
for thee, and for myself, no quiet find."

More of the same...
Okay so here I sit on a Friday night watching Dateline on the truth about oil. Why a Friday night you ask? Because everyone else is out spending money and having a good time. Who watches this? Well, people who give a rat's rear end, but who will most likely never be heard if they choose to do something about this.
In my last blog, I was talking about how we should reach independence and stop relying on foreign countries that pretty much hold the majority of the cards. Then you hear the truth of the matter, which pretty much boils down to the fact that "Fat Cats" (rich people with nothing else better to do) decided to toy with the economy and make even more money on the stock market.
Does anyone else here see a hugely immoral issue here? These are people that call themselves good, honest (cough) Christian people. But they're certainly are not worshiping God.
What is going to happen to this country if we can't pull the needle full of fuel out of our veins? The politicians try to tell us we can be independent of foreign oil and energy. Can we? The problem with Americans is they've taken the Constitution and have twisted and manipulated the meaning of it almost as much as the Bible. Remember the warning of my last blog - "No one will ever have the same interpretation". This holds true for the Bible. Someone somewhere along the way doesn't like a certain passage, take it out. They can't understand the wording of it, change it to their liking. Same thing with the Constitution. And what has it done to us? It's made us lazy, selfish, instant gratification whiners.
We could truly do something about our fuel and energy costs if we so chose, but the second someone comes up with an alternate idea, the Government comes and shuts them down.
Now you do realize that this blog is just my interpretation of what I saw on TV tonight. My opinion is just that, mine. Personally, I think we should pull our troops out of Iraq and let them sort out their own problems. If they kill each other off, well...let them. They'll either kill themselves or focus on us and I don't want to be the center of their attention if they've been taught since birth to hate every last American.
People need to stop and think about what they're doing. But no one ever does. No one ever listens to that inner voice that tells them something is wrong. No one ever stops to think things through, to think ahead and visualize the end results anymore. If something you are about to do is going to have an effect on someone else, doesn't that require a second thought? It is human nature to go into "Sruvival Mode" when you or your loved ones are threatened. It is also human nature to think of yourself before anyone else. "If something happens to me, what will happen to my family?" is usually one of the first thoughts to go through the mind of most adults. Usually is the key word. The problem is, we're not constantly in "Survival Mode". So what is the excuse for the people in this country only ever thinking of themselves?
People of this country are going to have to be willing to step up, swallow a little bit of their pride and admit that they're just as much at fault for the economy and the energy crisis we're now facing. I know I love having my internet and my TV, I'm all for driving rather than walking. However, I would also be the first to admit that I wouldn't mind turning off the TV, reading a book and walking where I can. Hell, if I have to hitch up a horse to a wagon and make that my mode of transportation, I'd more than likely do it. What would any of you do?

Uh oh, another political rambling...
*Warning: The following blog contains the author's personal opinion on the economy, our new "president" and the state our country is in. If you think you won't be able to just read this without getting irritated or angry at the author of this blog....that is your problem, not mine. Just remember this - NO one will EVER have the same exact opinion/feeling/emotion/interpretation as anyone else on this planet. EVER.*
My thoughts keep going to this healthcare plan that our esteemed "leader" (and I use the term very, very loosely) is trying to push into place.
First of all, if healthcare insurance providers didn't have such a large stick up their posteriors about Pre-Exisiting Conditions and the amount of money they would lose due to said Conditions, then more people would be able to get Health Insurance.
Secondly, if everyone on this planet weren't such materialistic hogs, then perhaps they could afford Health Insurance. However, we all know there is only one "god" everyone bows down to and worships and that is the Almighty Dollar. Health Care costs are so outrageous because of the demand.
Didn't we learn that in Economics? Supply and Demand. You need it, they've got it, but BOY is it going to cost you.
If people don't agree with this new Health Care bill the President is trying to push, then you should be contacting your Senators. Yes, I know that most of them have nicely padded pockets, but they can't ignore you if you are persistent. Honestly, this is something we need to be persistent about! It isn't going to help anyone, anywhere to have a Health Care bill put into place that demands you have Insurance or you'll be fined. The only reasons I can think that something like this would go into effect is so that 1) You have to pay the fine to get us out of national debt (because our taxes just aren't enough) and 2) The Insurance companies can be "bailed out" by having everyone get insurance and therefore putting more money into their pockets.
Let's be reasonable here, this is going to create more problems than it will solve. People who don't have Health Care Insurance at this moment in time don't have it for a REASON, people. Wake up! Everything is on the rise, yet our country goes deeper in debt. Why? We are paying for oil and gasoline out of our noses (I wish!) from foreign countries because we (gasp!) don't want to tap into our OWN resources. Do you know how self reliant and effective this country could be if we weren't so busy supporting other third world countries? Yet when we were struck down on 9/11, where were OUR allies?
There are currently 545 (approximately) politicians who are supposed to represent 30 million people. 545 people who are supposed to be somewhat intelligent (we can only hope) and who are supposed to be the voices of the 30 million people that this country is made up of. 545 people are supposed to represent YOU. Are they?
Of those 545 people, how many do you think are ethical enough to not take a bribe? How many of them spend almost their entire time in office explaining away why they did something WRONG?
If this country is going to get fixed it needs to start with the voice of 30 MILLION AMERICANS, NOT some Yahoo politician who is more worried about his wife's plastic surgery or their daughter's brand new Porsche on her 16th birthday.
I believe, it is time we fired Congress and start over.

Ranting
I can't help but shake my head and wonder what the country has gotten itself into. I'm sure I will get a lot of flack by saying I certainly did NOT vote for Obama. It is insanely ridiculous to hear that the Senate is trying to pass a bill forcing everyone to obtain health insurance. If not, you will be fined X amount of dollars.
Excuse me? Did I miss something?
People who don't have health insurance are the ones who can't afford it. My husband is lucky enough to have Native American blood in him. He's covered. What about me? What about the other people out there living pay check to pay check? Personally, if I could afford health insurance, I'd have it!
I strongly urge people to protest against this. Write a letter to your Congressman. I certainly am going to. I tell you what though, the ones who are wanting to pass this bill are sitting comfortably in their summer homes, being waited on by an army of servants who clean, cook and wipe their noses (and rears) at the drop of a hat. They are covered. They will be well taken care of because they simply can afford it.
I just hope they come to their senses (translation: give back the bribe or refuse it) and realize this is the wrong bill to try and pass in this country. Don't we have more important things to focus on? Wake up, Washington!
